Two things: 1) What's the gun availability in Berlin, Tokyo, and Toronto? How can we ever be serious about crime when America is the world's leader in guns per capita? And on top of that, we certainly have the loosest laws governing those guns. 2) There are proven strategies to combat crime that don't involve over-policing or troops in the streets. Where is the commitment to those solutions (youth programs, interrupters, restorative practices, JOBS!, etc.).
