Zohran Mamdani Was Sworn in as Mayor of New York City.

This is a news letter I wrote two months ago after Zohran Mamdani won his election.

From my point of view, that moment marked a clear shift. A new blueprint emerged for how young candidates can win elections without permission from the party establishment. Establishment Republicans and establishment Democrats alike should be paying attention.

I do not agree with all of Mamdani’s policies. That’s beside the point. What matters is that he challenged a calcified political structure, ran a disciplined and intelligent campaign, and managed to inspire people who are normally written off or ignored.

All while his own party was working against him.

On a side note: looking back at my writing from just two months ago, I can already see how committing to writing three times a week has sharpened my arguments. Excess words are disappearing. My style is evolving.

I am reposting this because yesterday Zohran Mamdani was sworn in as mayor of New York City. The original post slipped under the radar because I never sent it out and only published it on my website. It deserves another look, so I am putting it back out there.

The die is cast.

What we are seeing across the country, especially after the recent win in New York, shows that something has changed. Zohran Mamdani did not just beat an opponent. He beat the establishment.

He represents a younger generation that has been pushed aside, ignored, and frozen out of party leadership unless they fight to get in.

And that generation is coming. The old guard will not give up power willingly or mentor the new. So the new generation is taking it through politics, populism, and speaking directly to what real Americans face every day. A country that is pricing them out of the American Dream.

The First Generation to Go Backward

This isn’t about luxury or excess. It’s about the basics: having a home, owning a car, getting married, raising kids, keeping food on the table, and being able to afford healthcare.

The reality is that the American Dream has moved out of reach for an entire generation. The facts back it up. The median age of first-time homebuyers is now about 40, the highest on record, and the typical buyer overall is in the mid-50s, a reflection of how wealth and equity have drifted up the age ladder. A few decades ago, first-time buyers were in their early 30s. That delay cascades into delayed families, delayed stability, and lost wealth building.

At the same time, this generation is falling behind its parents economically. Fewer young people are out-earning the generation before them, and most no longer believe that working hard will guarantee a better life. The promise that every generation would climb a little higher has broken.

So no, people aren’t skipping kids or homes because they’re selfish or lazy. They’re asking very practical questions: How can I raise a child when I can’t afford a house? How do I pay for childcare or health insurance? What happens if my kid gets sick?

This isn’t cultural decline. It’s economic reality.

People already pay enough in taxes, but they aren’t seeing the return. They’re tired of writing big checks to a system that gives little back. They’re paying steakhouse prices and getting fast-food results. What Americans want now is simple: for their tax dollars to mean something. To go further. To make life better, not just to feed political machines and bloated bureaucracies.

The Generational Revolution

The next wave of voters, younger and more frustrated, is demanding change. They want delivery, not speeches. They want results on housing, healthcare, childcare, and affordability.

The Democratic establishment can either evolve or be replaced. Republicans already lost their credibility by promising prosperity and delivering only tax cuts for billionaires, insider trading, and continuing endless wars. But the Democrats have ran out of excuses.

If you campaign on helping the working class and then fail to deliver, people will stop believing in you. They will not wait another decade for promises that never arrive.

Ohio’s Wake-Up Call

In Ohio, the same story is playing out. The state approved $600 million dollars for a new Cleveland Browns stadium using unclaimed funds that belong to Ohioans. Lawsuits are already challenging the plan. At the same time, about 1.4 million Ohioans rely on SNAP and have seen program disruptions and uncertainty while prices keep rising. That is the picture: public money for a stadium while families worry about groceries.

Governor Mike DeWine is handing out peanuts to the masses. Over a million Ohioans could lose their SNAP benefits while DeWine only manages to fine $25 Million to help feed Ohioans.

So the people of Ohio are here like Oliver Twist, holding their bowls out, saying, “Please, sir, may I have some more?”

Meanwhile, the billionaires are already full.

The Message of 2026

The die is cast, and 2026 will prove it.

Americans want younger leadership. They want their tax dollars to serve the people, not foreign wars or corporate welfare. They want transparency and accountability for every dollar, because unaffordability is choking every part of life, from rent to healthcare to food to education.

The next election will not be about party branding or loyalty. It will be about affordability, fairness, and the right to a decent life.

The old guard will not and cannot deliver it. The new generation will.

The die is cast. It is now or never.
