heres a different take from a guy in your state. I think the AI data centers are great, but its fucking insane these cities are just rolling over for companies and giving them 20+ years of tax abatements and allowing companies to just roll over local reaidents. I’m all for companies building on dirt cheap midwest land, BUT the factory should carry their fair share of tax and electricity bill. Everywhere one of these data centers go up, all resident’s electric bills sky rocket…
bring the data centers, but don’t sell out your own citizens to do it
You have a point. I have been purposefully leaving citation out for brevity but i will start putting it in. Note taking is not that same as reading charts. My GF who is a doctor is transitioning to voice to note for the hospital as it saves lots of time. One of that bigest time sucks for DR's is just jotting down all the patient notes. So if you can just record and an AI summarizes into notes then the doctor goes and gives it a once over will save massive amounts of time. Basically allowing the hospitals to take gthe now 20 minute time slot per patient and trim it down to 15 or maybe even lower 10. Which is insane BTW No AI is reading charts or doing evals yet.
“”Robotics are entering elder care facilities.
AI charting tools now automate 70 percent of clinical note-taking.””
This stat is absolutely crazy, at least the hospitals in midwest states still won’t employ AI to read patient
heart beat charts, thats still a nurse job due to liability + no model is accurate enough yet.
I agree with your points here that the AI deniers are just coping, and will take into account your list of ideas.
